The new 2006 Maxima is now in showrooms nationally. A substantial list of changes has been implemented to make this a very significant model upgrade. The big news is the new Maxima now comes with Nissan's Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with 6-speed M-Mode to provide an exceptionally smooth and more fuel efficient ride. The combination of Xtronic CVT and Maxima's award winning VQ35 engine means the new Maxima is sensational to drive whether you leave it in auto or shift yourself using the six-speed M-Mode.

Add to this new 17" alloy wheels and changes to the front and rear body styling, plus a sporty new interior metallic finish and the new Nissan Maxima offers a SHIFT_ from what is expected from six cylinder cars. But don't take our word for it. Take a closer look and a drive of the new Maxima at your Nissan dealer now.

A Special Edition X-TRAIL has been released to celebrate 40 years of Nissan in Australia. Based on the existing highly specified range, the line-up now includes the special edition X-TRAIL 40th Anniversary ST-S model and sees the Ti and Ti-L models also gain additional equipment.

The Special Edition X-TRAIL ST-S has plenty of extras to bring a smile to the face of Australians looking for their new compact 4x4. For the same price as the base model ST you can now have an ST-S X-TRAIL with an electric tilt/slide sunroof, alloy wheels and fog lights. You'll score ST-S 40th Anniversary Special Edition badging to mark the occasion too.

Now there's even more choice when it comes to choosing a new 4WD. Nissan has just released the Ti turbo diesel variant of its new Pathfinder range. The Pathfinder's 128kW common rail turbo diesel engine delivers car like performance with the latest generation diesel economy. With a maximum rated towing capacity of 3,000kg (trailer with brakes) it's more than capable of towing a heavy load too.

The Ti comes standard with plenty of safety equipment (front, side and curtain SRS airbags) and a long list of mod-cons to keep the family comfortable on every adventure. Heated front seats, glass tilt/slide sunroof, dual zone climate control, rear air conditioning, Nissan Rear Seat Entertainment System and 6 stack in dash CD audio with steering wheel mounted controls are just the start!

Check out the new Ti Pathfinder Turbo Diesel now!

Tiida's launch last month was both exciting and sad. It meant the Pulsar, which had been a part of the Nissan range for more than two decades, retired. Fortunately the technologically advanced Tiida is such a great vehicle we don't think we will miss the Pulsar for very long. The reviews are already coming in, confirming for the most part what we already knew. The Tiida is a fantastic car at a great price.

"One of Tiida's trump cards is the first-in-class six-speed manual transmission. Deliciously light and smooth, each gate is clearly defined and slots home with a satisfying snick. It's also a direct result of Nissan's Japanese heritage, European's never seem to be able to manage a truly cohesive gearbox at this level of motoring."
- Sean Poppitt, Carpoint.com.au, February 2006

"The Tiida lives up to almost all of Nissan's promises. It is bigger, it is more refined, it is more comfortable and it drives nicely."
- Paul Gover, Cars Guide, January 2006

"The ride comfort is good - it's not too stiffly sprung, nor is it overdamped. The result is a ride that is, well, rather European. In the way that used to mean good."
- Sean Poppitt, Carpoint.com.au, February 2006

Before the 2006 Dual Cab Navara was even available to the general public, Ron Moon, had driven it and given it the thumbs up. Since then there's been plenty of demand for the rugged five-seater with a number of reviews being written complimenting this comfortable workhorse.

"It is such a good drive and so pleasant inside that it should prove to be the first of its type to be openly accepted by women drivers..."

"The sprawling space really makes a difference and the neutral handling and rack and pinion steering add an unexpected level of driver enjoyment."

"The cabin offers huge rear legroom with headroom to spare both front and rear..."

"The D40 Navara petrol is seriously quick with roadholding to match..."

- Joe Kenwright, carpoint.com.au, 2005

"A brief drive through mountainous terrain really highlighted the Navara's off-road abilities."

"Steering weight and feel is impressively car-like, aided by a high measure of body control through corners, a secure stance at freeway speeds and a supple ride over the rough stuff."

"The front seats are large and supportive; the nicely symmetrical dashboard offers good ventilation, easy switch and control comprehension, dead-clear instrumentation and plenty of storage areas; while the driving position is pretty much faultless."

- Byron Mathioudakis, GoAuto.com.au, 2005

"With the most powerful engines in the market and no softening of offroad ability, the new Nissan Navara promises plenty."

"The new Navara isn't short of grunt. In fact, both engines comfortably out-power all players, including HiLux."

"Rather than the seat-back folding down as per a wagon, the seat cushion lifts up from the almost-flat floor, allowing bulky goods such as toolboxes to be carried and locked in the cabin. It's a great idea."

"the rear seat is enormous."

"As well as eclipsing Toyota's V6, the 4.0-litre petrol V6's output figures exceed many V8s of little more than five years ago"

"Feature for feature (inside, outside and underneath where it counts) the new Navara seems to have every box ticked against its competition."

- Glenn Torrens, Overlander 4WD Magazine, January 2006
